Until recently, predominantly non-reinforced
plastics in addition to relatively small volumes of thermoset-plastic
fibre composites were used in the orthopaedics industry. Since the
market launch of TEPEX® dynalite 104, 108, 208 and 408, the technical
and commercial potential that stems from the short cycle times in
production and from the scope for manufacturing very light, rigid
components has been recognised.
Thanks to the relatively low forming temperature, the materials can be used by most orthopaedic workshops and processed with existing machinery.
